FREQUENTLY ASKED
Questions
1. What time does the ceremony start?
The ceremony will begin promptly at 5:30pm. Guests can begin arriving at AVAM at 5:00pm. Please arrive a little earlier to ensure you're settled in before the ceremony begins.
2. Where is the wedding venue?
The wedding will take place at the American Visionary Art Museum (AVAM), located at 820 Key Hwy, Baltimore, MD 21230. The ceremony will take place in the Sculpture Barn and Garden, and the reception will be next door in the Jim Rouse Visionary Center. You can find additional details about the venue at AVAM’s website, here.
3. What should I wear?
The dress code is formal/black tie optional. We want you to dress to impress. Bold patterns and colors are encouraged! Important note - ensure your outfit permits adequate range of motion to break it down on the dance floor later in the evening. Please refrain from wearing white or similar colors.

4. Is there a wedding gift registry?
Your presence at our celebration is the best gift we could hope for, but we greatly appreciate any contributions. Should you wish to give us a gift, please visit the “Registry” tab of the website. There will also be a card box available at the reception.
5. Can I bring a plus one?
We’ve done our best to keep the guest list manageable. Please check your invitation for details about whether a plus one is invited.
6. Will there be food at the reception?
Yes! We’ll be serving a plated dinner, and light hors d'oeuvres will be served immediately following the ceremony at cocktail hour. If you have any dietary restrictions or food allergies, please let us know when you RSVP.
7. Is the wedding kid-friendly?
No. We have decided to make our wedding an adults-only celebration. While we love your little ones, we ask that you please make arrangements for childcare so that you can fully enjoy the event. We hope you understand and look forward to celebrating with you!
8. What about transportation and parking?
AVAM does not have their own parking lot. There is some parking near the AVAM venue, but it is limited. We strongly encourage using a ride-sharing service like Uber or Lyft. Please see the “Travel” page for more information.
9. Can I take photos or videos during the ceremony?
No. We kindly (or not so kindly if you respond better to firm direction) ask guests to refrain from using their devices during the ceremony. There will be plenty of time to take photos at the reception, and professional pictures will be shared with wedding guests after the event.
10. Will there be dancing?
You better believe it! We’re expecting everyone to join in and have fun on the dance floor. The groom has a history of ripping his pants while dancing at weddings, so come prepared for some serious moves and lots of laughter! We can’t wait to dance the night away with you all!
11. What time does the reception end?
The reception will conclude at 11:00pm. We hope you can stay and celebrate with us until then!
12. What should I do if I have to cancel or change my RSVP?
Please let us know as soon as possible if your plans change so we can update the guest list and meal count. You can reach Tommy at 443-867-6357 or Steffanie at 772-453-9031.
13. Are there any accommodations nearby?
Yes! We have a limited hotel block for guests at The Marriott Waterfront and Marriott Courtyard, which are located nearby. There are also plenty additional options in the area. All information and booking details for the block is available in the “Accommodations” tab.
14. Can I send my gift early?
Absolutely! If you'd like to send a gift before the wedding, please reach out to Tommy or Steffanie to get our mailing address.
15. What happens if there is bad weather?
Rain or shine, we’ll be ready! Most of the wedding is planned to be indoors and we’ve made arrangements for indoor options for the portions that are outside. Any updates or changes will be communicated via our website.
