TRAVELING TO
Baltimore
There are a number of different travel options for getting to downtown Baltimore, no matter where you are coming from.
Flying
The closest airport is Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI).
BWI is approximately a 15-20 minute drive to Downtown Baltimore.
You can also take the MARC train, the Light Rail, and/or the City Link bus to get to the Inner Harbor area.
You could also fly into Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) or Dulles International Airport (IAD), however those are further away.
DCA is approximately an hour drive to Downtown Baltimore.
IAD is approximately an hour and fifteen minute drive to Downtown Baltimore.
Taking the Train
If you are traveling along the east coast, you may be able to take the MARC train or Amtrak to Baltimore’s Penn Station.
If you are coming from Florida or Georgia and want to have your car, look into taking Amtrak’s Auto Train.

PARKING IN
The Baltimore Inner Harbor is a busy area. If you plan on driving to Baltimore or renting a car, be prepared to pay for parking since there are very few, if any, free options. In the Inner Harbor area there are several parking options available depending on your needs.
Like you would in any major city, when parking, please make sure to take all valuables with you and lock your car.
“I want to park as close as possible to the hotel.”
If you are staying at or near the Marriott Waterfront, the two Premium Parking parking garages are the closest:
Premium Parking - P2319 is at 720 Aliceanna Street
Premium Parking - P2317 is at 100 International Drive
The Baltimore Marriott Waterfront also provides valet parking for $49 per day.
There is also a Public Parking Garage (1008 Aliceanna St) next to the Courtyard Marriott if you are staying there or closer to S. Central Ave.
If you are staying at the Tru by Hilton or the Hyatt Place, there is also Little Italy Garage at 400 S. Central Ave.
“I want to park near the hotel, but
I don’t mind walking.”
The Exeter Street Garage (650 S Exeter St.) is about 2 blocks away from the Marriott Waterfront, Courtyard Marriott, and hotels in that area.
826 Eastern Ave Parking is about 2-3 blocks away from those same hotels. It is an uncovered lot, not a parking garage. Steffanie has parked there on several occasions and has had no issues leaving her car there overnight.
Along S. Eden street, a few blocks away from the Marriott Waterfront, there are a few different parking garages:
Premium Parking - P2312 at 700 S Eden St, Baltimore, MD 21202
Fleet & Eden Garage Parking at 501 S Eden St, Baltimore, MD 21230
There’s also a PMI Parking Garage at 815 E. Pratt St. This is the furthest garage, about a 10 minute walk away from the Marriott Waterfront.
“I’m staying on the other side of the harbor, closer to the museum.”
If you’re staying at the Sheraton or the Hyatt Regency near Light Street, there are a few different parking options in that area:
LAZ Parking at 401 S. Charles St.
Harbor Court Garage at 30 E. Lee St.
AirGarage at 15 E. Hughes St.
TRANSPORTATION ON
Wedding Day
The day of the wedding we recommend taking a Lyft or an Uber to the venue so you are able to fully focus on the celebration and not worry about refilling a parking meter or coordinating a designated driver.
If you need to drive your car to the venue, please know that the American Visionary Art Museum does not have parking specifically reserved for the museum. There are limited spaces along the backside of the museum on Covington St. that are metered and require payment.
If you plan on driving yourself and/or others to the wedding, please leave with ample time to find parking and the ceremony location.
